FRANKLIN, Ind.–Law enforcement responded to a disturbance at a home on Hospital Road in Franklin early Friday morning. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says that Michael Blackwell, 31, of Franklin, was interviewed about the incident as they found him leaving the mobile home. Initially, deputies say he told them that his friends had been arguing. Once everyone at the residence gave their story, all fingers seemed to point to Blackwell as a suspect.
Officers say that Blackwell allegedly became drunk and apparently began beating his wife when she wasn’t ready to leave. Authorities at the sheriff’s office say it was determined that he attempted to drag her by her hair in order to exit the premises. At that point, law enforcement was alerted by a 911 call from a neighbor who heard a woman screaming.
After getting clearance at the hospital, Blackwell was arrested and charged with domestic battery.
