COLUMBUS, Ind. - The National Weather Service (NWS) says a Flood Warning is in effect for Bartholomew and Jennings Counties on Saturday morning, May 16, until noon.
Excessive rainfall is expected to cause flooding in central Bartholomew County, northern Jennings County, and southern Decatur County in south-central Indiana.
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
At 8:10 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned areas. Up to two inches of rain have fallen.
NWS advised that some of the locations that will experience flooding include Columbus, Greensburg, Hope, Westport, Elizabethtown, Hartsville, Clifford, Newbern, Letts, and Taylorsville.
