One arrested after Jennings County standoff

NORTH VERNON, Ind. — A standoff in Jennings County led to the arrest of a North Vernon man Thursday.

Police were called to the 2000 block of North Crestwood Drive at 11:40 p.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. While talking to a female at the door of the residence, police looked inside and recognized Derek Foster, 29, as a person wanted for an outstanding warrant.

Initially, Foster would not open the door or talk to officers, but he eventually came out of the home peacefully at about 2:30 a.m.

Foster faces the outstanding warrant charge, plus criminal confinement and intimidation charges from this incident.
