COLUMBUS, Ind. – On Wednesday afternoon, the Columbus Parks Board approved its $500,000 contribution to the overall purchase amount for the Fair Oaks Mall property. The money will come from the department’s general reserve fund and is considered part of the 75 percent of the $5,450,000 the city will be paying to buy the mall.
Columbus Regional Health (CRH) is outlaying the other 25 percent of the $5.45 million. The Heritage Fund will make up the difference between what the city and CRH are contributing and the actual $5.9 million purchase price.
Yesterday’s action is the final step in confirming the department’s participation, which had already gone through two city council readings.
