COLUMBUS, Ind.–Law enforcement responded to an early Tuesday afternoon hit-and-run crash in Columbus. Lt. Matt Harris, public information officer with the Columbus Police Department, says the accident occurred near 17th Street and Haw Creek Avenue. Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a Chevy Suburban and it was located by officers a short time later on the other end of Haw Creek, near 25th Street.
The driver, Tracy Jordan, 49, of Columbus, allegedly displayed physical signs of intoxication and was given several field sobriety tests. Police say she failed the tests, so Jordan was then transported to Columbus Regional Health for a blood draw. Once that was completed, she was escorted to Bartholomew County Jail, charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a previous conviction.
