COLUMBUS, Ind. — Gas prices in Indiana are the eighth highest in the country according to the AAA Hoosier Motor Club. The average price for gas is up to $2.61 per gallon, still about 40 cents lower than what it was one year ago.
In the last month, prices across the Midwest have increased at least 30 cents per gallon. The increases have been attributed to unspecified refinery problems that have cut gas production.
Production problems are expected to be solved in the next few weeks. Once solved, gas prices should stabilize, and possibly fall slightly.
