INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two communities in the south-central Indiana area are recipients of federal Community Development Block Grants being distributed by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The city of Seymour has been awarded $590,000 for a streetscape project. The enterprise will improve an area around One Chamber Square. The project consists of enhancing the sidewalks and curbing, upgrading the lighting and electrical services, and creating a community space that includes seating and interactive features.
Decatur County has been granted $441,509 to refurbish a structure to be a children’s advocacy center. The project will include the acquisition of a building and renovations to create a child-friendly environment for child abuse investigations and victim support services.
