SOUTH CENTRAL, Ind.–Severe thunderstorms riding a cold front swept into the south-central Indiana area Sunday afternoon and then returned for an encore later in the evening. Fallen leaves and other debris clogged up storm drains to create flooding conditions in areas other than flood plains. Emergency crews in Bartholomew, Jackson, and Johnson counties rescued stranded motorists, while many residents reported standing water in their basements. The National Weather Service reports that a flood warning will remain in effect for the area until Wednesday, with a 40 per cent chance of more rain tonight and Tuesday.
