NORTH VERNON, Ind.–Two people wanted on previous warrants are behind bars in Jennings County after an incident with local police at a gas station on Wednesday. North Vernon Police Department’s Sergeant Andy Richmond says their officers were dispatched to the Crystal Flash gas station regarding individuals who were acting suspiciously behind the store. Upon arrival, they found three individuals at the scene, two of whom fled on foot.
The first to be captured was Nicole Stephens, 26, of North Vernon, who was charged with a previous failure-to-appear warrant.
William Baugh, 28, of Scipio, was caught a short time later with the help of residents who saw the suspect running near their homes. During the chase, he had supposedly dropped 7.5 grams of methamphetamine packaged in separate bags, a bag of prescription pills, and other drug-related items. Baugh was charged with a parole warrant, dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, a legend drug violation, and possession of paraphernalia.
