WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Postal Service is warning Indiana residents about a new scam making the rounds.
Postal inspector Rick Johnston says the fraudulent activity starts with a phone call from someone claiming to be with the US Postal Service. “The post office is looking to deliver something and requesting personal, identifying information from the customer, such as your address or date of birth and other personal information. We’ve received complaints about that,” says Johnston.
He states that if you get one of these calls, don’t give them any personal information. Instead, write down whatever details you can about the caller and then report it online at PostalInspectors.uspis.gov.
