Wind Chill Warning ends today, schools still delayed or closed

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) has declared that the Wind Chill Warning that is now in effect for Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Decatur, and Brown Counties, will expire Thursday at 1 p.m. Southcentral Indiana residents are warned to continue to protect themselves from the bitterly cold elements this morning as hypothermia and frostbite can occur quickly if precautions are not taken.

Most school systems in the area are either closed or delayed on Thursday. Jennings County and Brown County schools are closed again today. Bartholomew Consolidated, Flatrock Hawcreek, Edinburgh, Seymour, Brownstown, Franklin, Greenwood, Greensburg, and Decatur County are all on a two-hour delay. Ivy Tech campuses in Columbus, Seymour, North Vernon, Franklin, and Greensburg will open at noon on Thursday. For a complete list of closings, click the Team Weather Watch page.
