Traffic stop yields drug arrest

Tausha N. Hendren

COLUMBUS, Ind.–Local police pulled over a Bartholomew County woman early Friday morning after she disregarded a stop sign near 14th and California Streets. Columbus Police Department public information officer Matt Harris says that the vehicle, driven by Tausha Hendren, 27, of Columbus, was given a free sniff-search by a canine officer that detected narcotics. An inspection of Hendren’s SUV allegedly turned up heroin, pills, and drug paraphernalia.

Hendren was taken into custody, transported to Bartholomew County Jail, and charged with possession of heroin, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
