INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – More than 70 rural and volunteer fire departments from 47 Indiana counties have been awarded more than $320,000 in Volunteer Fire Assistance grants. Both the Hope and Southwest Bartholomew Volunteer Fire Departments were given grants.
The funds will reportedly be used for training, purchasing necessary firefighting equipment, and other purposes.
The Hope VFD received $4,740 and the money will go towards communication equipment. The Southwest Bartholomew VFD received $3,100 and will be using it for safety equipment.
